|---|---|
An object being tracked — a container, a load carrier, a vehicle. One or more tags are assigned to an asset; its position is the position of its tags. |
The class an asset belongs to. It decides which routes apply, how an unknown tag is assigned automatically, and how the asset is counted in the reports. |
Several asset types combined, so that reports and views can evaluate them together. |
A log entry recording who changed what and when. Kept for traceability and compliance, and exportable. |
The business address behind a location, taken from its POI. Shown as "Biz. Location" in lists and reports, and used for grouping there. |
One completed pass of an asset through its route. The counter on the asset increases when the track closes, not while it is still running. |
A saved specification of which properties an export contains and in which order. A wizard guides through the export itself. |
The space an application space obtains its locations, devices, tags and position events from — read-only. One infrastructure can serve several use cases that stay separate from one another: each has its own business data, all see the same location tree and the same devices. The reference is set when the application space is created and cannot be changed afterwards. |
A freely assignable mark on an asset or a track, used to filter and group. Unlike the asset type, a label can be changed at any time and several can be set at once. |
A node in the location tree of a space — a site, a hall, a floor or a zone, for example. Which levels exist and what may sit below them follows from the location type. |
The working hours of the operation. Reports use it to deduct non-working time, so a weekend does not count as a delay. |
A rule that runs on a schedule and evaluates the current state — to find assets that have stopped reporting, for example. See also Rule. |
Point of Interest. A business address — street, town, country, supplier and DUNS number — attached to a location. Reports also group by POI: a location without a POI of its own is counted towards the nearest POI above it. |
Where an object is. Either a coordinate in a coordinate system or an identifier such as a location or an address. |
A planned sequence of stations an asset is expected to pass. Routes are configured per asset type and are the basis for evaluating cycle times and delays. If several routes fit an asset’s movements, the track stays undecided until one of them remains. |
One station of a route. A maximum dwell time and a maximum travel time to it can be set for each; exceeding either makes the track delayed. |
Determines how a route is run: Free flow (start and destination only), Round trip (out and back to the start), Round trip with transshipment point (the same cycle with one intermediate station, passed once in each direction), and Waypoints (a fixed sequence of stations). |
Real-Time Locating System. A system that determines and reports the position of tagged objects continuously. |
A configured condition with an action. Event rules react to an incoming position; periodic rules run on a schedule. |
A self-contained working area within a tenant. What it holds follows from its space type: the locating infrastructure — a location tree with the devices and scenarios installed there — the business data of an application, or both. A tenant may have several spaces, one per site for example. |
Determines the role of a space: Infrastructure holds locations, devices and scenarios, Application holds the business data of one use case and references an infrastructure space, General holds both and is the default. Chosen when the space is created and not changeable afterwards. Each application offers only the types it can work with, which is why the selected space may change when you switch application. |
A physical tag attached to an asset. Which asset a tag belongs to is set in the asset administration, either by hand or automatically for a new tag. Elsewhere: in Tag Provisioning & Management a tag is a cellular device that appears on its own and is not assigned to an asset. |
An isolated organizational unit. Users, groups, spaces, devices, assets and tags always belong to exactly one tenant, and no data is visible across tenants. |
The record of one asset travelling along a route. A track opens when the asset reaches the start of the route and closes at its end. It holds the arrival and departure times per route point, which is what makes delays visible. |
A single person with an account. Which applications and which spaces they see follows from their roles. |
